The mission of Heritage Solutions & Preservation (HS&P) is to promote cultural heritage preservation as an agent for positive social change and economic development and to help protect and preserve cultural heritage in communities that lack the resources.

What we do

HS&P features information about preservation efforts, issues and needs in poor communities around the globe to promote awareness and help find the needed resources for each effort. We salvage reusable and surplus furnishings for resale to low-budget museums, cultural centers and libraries and donate to deserving sites in the developing world. Our Hands for Heritage volunteer program provides exciting new opportunities and experiences for preservation professionals who are looking to contribute their valuable skills to sites in need.  Find out how you can get involved.

 

Why we do this  

 

Preserving slowly disappearing intangible traditions (such as oral histories and less-spoken languages), tangible relics, artifacts, archives, books, archaeological sites and historic structures is a great challenge for so many indigent communities who simply lack the professional and financial resources or, are in inaccessible locations. The destruction of these irreplaceable assets is irreversible through time and without the means to preserve them, they will eventually disappear.  

HS&P envisions a better world of self-determined citizens who can proudly manage and develop their cultural assets despite the world’s prevailing deficiencies and disproportional economic resources. So, let’s preserve history for a better future.
